DESIGNATION: – FLOORMAN

JOB SUMMARY/ RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibility of the Floor man is to assemble, operate, maintain, and disassemble all rod and tubing handling equipment, rig support equipment, and special tools required to perform services requested by the client.

Stress the safety program to the rig crew and make sure that it is followed. By ensuring compliance with company safe work practices, the Floor man will be able to develop safe work habits within his rig crew.

Operate and maintain the rig tubing and rod tongs, air slips, rod and tubing elevators, manual tongs, and all special tools utilized at the rig floor level.

Take apart and assemble as required all client well heads, tubing and rod blow out prevention equipment, beam pump auxiliary equipment, PTS equipment, and sand line equipment.

During rig up/rig down procedures observe all guy lines, wire ropes, air hoses, electrical cables, which are related to the rig derrick and inform the Driller if they might hamper the rig up/down task.

Advise the Driller of any abnormal operating conditions, and suspend operations if these abnormal operating conditions could possibly contribute to or crate an unsafe situation.

When not working on the floor the following jobs are applicable to the Floor man:-

Participate in and learn the optimum safe performance of his duties and the proper care and maintenance

of the hoist and auxiliary equipment.

When time constraints permit it, learn the duties of the derrick man position.

Carry out any/ all tasks assigned by the Driller / Assistant Driller with regards to work required carrying out the well site program.

Ensure that WPH equipments, well site equipments, and well site areas are kept clean and serviceable at all times.

Organize rig equipment and down hole tools as required to ensure no time wastage when proceeding to the next

phase of the well repair / work over program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Within RAY, The Rig Floor man is required to attend, and where applicable pass, certain training courses, which will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

Safety Awareness – at three yearly intervals after completion of HSE induction

Hydrogen Sulphide – with yearly refresher ,Basic Fire Fighting , Rigging and Slinging

A Floor man will have worked up through the ranks of the rig crew, and will have become acquainted with the equipment and work over procedures during this time. Such experience is necessary for the Floor man to assume responsibilities.

SALARY- 200-350 OMR
